How to test capacitors with a Klein multimeter?

Capacitance measurements require a bit of professionalism because in electronics circuits you have to remove the capacitor from the circuit. To reduce the hassle, you can detach just one leg of the capacitor from the circuit to measure its capacitance. Moreover, to measure capacitance with Klein multimeters is much easier. You can do it with both MM600 and MM700.

For AC Capacitor:

Rotate the dial and set it to capacitance measurement symbol on “ –|(– ”. Now if you select the range by the “RANGE” button. But if you have an auto-ranging multimeter then skip this option. Connect the test leads to both ends of capacitors. Your multimeter will definitely tell you the capacitance of the capacitor. If the result is infinite or shorted then it means your capacitor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

For DC Capacitors:

Almost there are not many changes but you have to be careful about test leads and polarity. Connect the Red lead( which is inserted in “V”) to the “+” positive of the capacitor and the Black (Com) lead of the multimeter to the negative “-” of the capacitor. All the rest of the procedure remains the same while testing DC capacitors.

Which multimeter offers temperature measurements in both Celsius and Fahrenheit?

Both brands offer durable multimeters and you can measure temperature with them. But they have HVAC multimeters for this purpose. Fluke 116 digital multimeter has temperature measurement capabilities in both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. Therefore, You can measure temperature with Klein mm700 in both scales also.
